Learn Thread Sketching, May 17th 10a-4p
$75.00
This is a technique class for all skill levels. In this class, you will learn to thread sketch by using your sewing machine as your pencil and the thread as your lead to sketch designs on fabric. We will start by learning different techniques of thread sketching as your sample. We will move on to a simple design and then end our class with a more detailed thread sketching on top of appliqued fabric. The last two technique samples can be turned into a finished project such as a mug rug or wall art. Angela McPherson will be teaching this class.
Supplies:
FABRIC: Quick pick fabric. ½ yard of muslin and three fat quarters will be more than enough (except for the scrap fabric requirements), but the exact measurements are below. If your fabric is directional, the dimensions are length x width. The fabric used in the samples was from the Moda – Chirp by Elena Amo line.
Please have the fabric cut out before class.
____ 2 cuts 12”x10” Muslin or Prepared for Dye (PFD) fabric (white or light solid color)
____ 2 cuts 8” x 14” Muslin or Prepared for Dye (PFD) fabric (this will be inside the project)
