Sewflakes

As artists who create with needle and thread, we try to communicate through our work. Perhaps it is a little more difficult within the context of the "traditional" quilt because, after all, it is the other genre that is known as the "art" quilt. Sewflakes were born out of the desire to express myself withing the traditional quilt making framework. Papercut applique blocks hearken back to the Baltimore Album era, filled with imagery and symbolism, and I discovered in them a voice for my quilts. this book shows you hot to use papercut applique to tell your stories. From an image to a snowflake, from a block to a quilt, your own unique designs will emerge. Included are five quilt patterns that you can make or use an inspiration. I hope these pages will motivate simulate, and that you, too, will find a new way to communicate.
