Machine Embroidery Tips and Tricks

Machine Embroidery ~ Tips and Techniques is a series of classes to help you learn how to use your embroidery machine to its fullest. Each class is 2 hours in length, consisting of a time for show and tell where students can present questions and problems. The second half will be a demonstration or presentation of the day’s topic. This month’s topic is all about placement and t-shirts! You will learn about stabilizers used in machine embroidery. Will cover which stabilizers with which fabrics etc. A hands-on demonstration on embroidering on a shirt. Samples will be shown.

Learn to sew a gorgeous cover with your choice of fabrics and turn the cover into an upholstered footstool!

Hand Applique

The application of fabric onto fabric by hand. This class will teach the basics of traditional hand applique to the beginner who wants to explore the process; aid those individuals with basic applique skills, assistance in exploring more advanced aspects of the craft, and provide a continuing support format for more skilled stitchers to expand the many artistic possibilities and to advance their creativity in the art. This is a continuing class.

Serger Techniques

Sergers aren't just for finishing seams. This class focuses on specialty techniques to construct and embellish your sewing projects. Each month a small project will made focusing on these techniques. This month you will learn how to start and stop on a dime, rolled hem on the curve, hidden seam fabric ties, and easy faux flanges.

Amidala’s Flower Workshop

Eight fun-filled Saturdays from March – November of 2018.You choose your method. Make it by hand or machine using Eye of the Beholder’s easier methods of reverse applique and applique as you make the center flower block. Learn how to machine embroider as you make the 4” butterfly corner blocks. Refine your piece-work making the 16- fan blocks and constructing the borders. Learn tips for creating a quilting plan to augment all the elements of the design. Explore embellishing with Swarovski crystals. It’s fun and easy to reverse applique and applique with Eye of the Beholder Quilt Design’s Trace, Baste, Snip & Stitch process for hand and Trace, Snip, Iron & Stitch process for machine.
